Ana Tran - Director of Bands
Ana Tran is in her 7th year at Creekside Int. as the Director of Bands. Mrs. Tran teaches the Symphonic band and the beginner woodwind classes. Under her direction, bands have received excellent ratings at the UIL contests and superior ratings in 2015 and 2017-2022. Prior to her time in Houston, Mrs. Tran attended Texas State University in San-Marcos where she received her degree in music studies in 2011. While at the university, she had the privilege of studying flute with Dr. Adah Jones, while pursuing her music education degree under the teaching of Dr. Caroline Beatty and Dr. Mary-Ellen Cavitt. Mrs. Tran lives in Houston, TX with her husband Austin, her daughter Zara, and their dog, Mochi. |
Thomas Macias - Associate director
Thomas Macias is in his 6th year at Creekside Intermediate and teaches the Honor Band as well as the beginning brass classes. Mr. Macias graduated from the University of Houston (Go Coogs!) where he earned his degree in Music Education as a trombone player. He has a variety of ensemble experience, having spent time in the Moores School of Music Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, Trombone Choir, Spirit of Houston Marching Band, and Cougar Brass Basketball Band. A Pearland native, Mr. Macias graduated from Dawson High School and is proud to remain in the area to call Houston home. |
